Jen Byles

Jen Byles worked in community engagement and leadership, bringing people together and helping them feel heard, valued and included. After being diagnosed with de novo metastatic breast cancer in 2022 at the age of 37, Jen drew on her professional skills and lived experience to advocate for greater recognition, connection and support for people living with MBC, especially young people impacted by MBC. She was a co-founder and Director of MBC Action Australia.
Jen died on 22 August 2026, after living with metastatic breast cancer for four and a half years. She leaves a legacy of courage, compassion and community. Her strong, warm and authentic voice helped shape MBC Action Australia from the beginning, and we will continue her work to ensure people living with MBC are seen, heard and less alone.
Angela Jeffs

Angela Jeffs worked for over 30 years as a social worker in public health with a special interest in trauma, family work and advocacy. She was diagnosed with de novo metastatic breast cancer in March 2022 and soon afterwards become involved in the metastatic breast cancer advocacy community. She was a founding member of MBC Action Australia.
Angela died on 28 December 2024, leaving a legacy of love and action. At MBC Action Australia we will continue to progress Angela’s goal of greater connection and support for those with metastatic breast cancer.
